Madison County Jail Roster
The official Madison County inmate records path for current local custody is the Interop roster linked from the Madison County Sheriff's Office. The roster is operated for the sheriff's office by Synergistic Software/Interop and was observed as a free public search with no login. It has three useful routes: Current Inmates, 24 Hours Arrests, and Inmates by Arrest Date. The current-inmates view is the best starting point for someone who may still be in the Madison County Jail. The 24-hour tab helps with a very recent booking. The arrest-date tab gives another path when the name is common or the booking date is known.
Those Madison County inmate records are local jail records, not a full criminal-history file. They reflect a custody event at Madison County Jail and the booking data that the public roster exposes. A person may be absent because the name is misspelled, the booking is too new, the person has been released, or the person is in another custody system. The county roster should not be used for TDCJ prisoners at the Jim Ferguson Unit, federal sentenced prisoners, immigration custody, or a court disposition after a Madison County arrest.
The sheriff page is also the source for related jail services. It links the roster, public records forms, public criminal-history request forms, JailATM deposits, visitation hours, crash reports, and registered sex-offender search. Sheriff Bobby Adams is listed as the sheriff, and the page separates the sheriff's office address from the jail address. That distinction matters for a records request or visit because the jail and sheriff's office are not listed at the same East Main Street address.
Use Madison County Roster Search
The roster accepts broad searches. The inspected form labels the name filter as optional, so a blank search can return the current list, while a last name, first name, or both can narrow the results. A booking number is not required. The visible public cards include a mugshot thumbnail, status, physical fields, arrest date, days in jail, total bond, and charge rows. For booking photos and the law that applies to them, the Madison County jail mugshots page is the more focused record path.
- Open the sheriff page and use its roster link, or go directly to the Madison County Interop roster.
- Choose Current Inmates for a person now held at Madison County Jail. Use 24 Hours Arrests for a new booking, or Inmates by Arrest Date when the arrest date is the known fact.
- Enter a last name, first name, or both. Leave the fields blank only when browsing the full visible roster is useful.
- Select Search Inmates and review all matching roster cards. Use pagination if the list spans more than one page.
- Read the status, arresting agency text, total bond, and charge rows together. A bond amount does not prove the person is eligible for release.
- If the search fails, call the jail or use a records request rather than assuming there is no Madison County inmate record.
Madison County Roster Fields
The Madison County inmate records search has a small field set, but it exposes several roster views. This makes it different from a statewide criminal-history system. The county form is built for current jail custody and recent arrest browsing, not for case dispositions, sealed records, or all old bookings. The table below follows the research inventory from the inspected Interop roster.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text | Optional | Placeholder reads "last name"; the name filter is labeled optional. |
| First Name | Text | Optional | Placeholder reads "first name"; autocomplete was off in the inspected form. |
| Current Inmates | Tab/link | Optional route | Opens the current-inmates page and is the default route for current custody. |
| 24 Hours Arrests | Tab/link | Optional route | Opens the recent-arrests page for bookings in the last 24 hours. |
| Inmates by Arrest Date | Tab/link | Optional route | Provides arrest-date browsing; exact date-control behavior was not fully inspected. |
| Search Inmates | Button | Not applicable | Runs the visible search form. |
| Pagination | Pager links | Not applicable | The inspected roster showed numbered pages, Prev, Next, and an item count. |
The Interop current roster screenshot captured in the project manifest shows the public roster interface with name filters, roster tabs, mugshot thumbnails, status, arrest date, and charge previews from the official roster URL.
That image matches the field inventory above: the search is name-based, the roster has several tabs, and the result cards mix custody status with charge information.
Madison County Inmate Profile
A Madison County inmate record on the public roster is a roster card with a nested charge grid. It is not a full booking jacket and not a full court file. The research found no visible date of birth, race, eye color, hair color, housing unit, cell, pod, booking number, projected release date, or court date in the public roster cards. Address fields existed, but inspected values were redacted. The public record is still detailed enough to confirm current booking status, arresting agency text, bond display, and listed charges.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Mugshot | A booking-photo thumbnail appears for inspected current inmates. |
| Name | Full name in last-name-first format. |
| Status | Current custody status, with "CURRENTLY BOOKED" observed. |
| Sex, height, weight | Basic physical fields; height and weight appear as numeric values. |
| Address | The field exists, but inspected values were redacted. |
| Arrest Date | Date of arrest with arresting agency or location text, such as sheriff, Madisonville PD, or DPS. |
| Days In Jail | A running count tied to the current custody event. |
| Total Bond | A dollar amount or "NOT SET" as displayed by the jail system. |
| Charge rows | Warrant number, counts, statute, description, misdemeanor/felony column, and court. |
Charge descriptions are allegations at the jail stage. A charge row can help locate the later court case, but it is not the final court result. For filed charges, docket settings, and case outcomes after booking, use the court clerk and court-search channels discussed on the Madison County court records after jail arrest page.
Madison County Access Chain
The strongest search strategy uses the Madison County inmate records channels in order. Start with the online roster because it is immediate and official for local jail custody. If the roster does not answer the question, call the jail and follow prompts. If the question needs a document, an older record, or a public criminal-history route, use the sheriff's forms rather than a commercial aggregator. The sheriff page links both the public records request PDF and the public criminal-history request PDF. The research could not extract the exact fields from those image-based forms, so the page should not claim form details that were not verified.
| Need | Best Madison County Channel | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Current local custody | Interop current inmates roster | Does not cover released people, state prisoners, federal custody, or immigration custody. |
| Very recent booking | 24 Hours Arrests | Recent-arrest tab, not a court disposition source. |
| Known arrest date | Inmates by Arrest Date | Date controls were not fully inspected. |
| Jail confirmation | Call 936-348-2755 and follow prompts | Use for custody, bond, visit scheduling, and records routing before travel. |
| Document request | Sheriff public-records request form | Response, fees, exceptions, and scope are handled through official records procedures. |
| Release notice | Texas VINE/VINELink | Notification service, not a complete roster replacement. |
Note: No official Madison County sheriff or Madisonville police mobile app was located in the research sweep.
County State Federal Inmates
Madison County has both a local jail and a state prison, so custody type must be checked before searching. Madison County Jail is operated by the sheriff's office and handles local arrests, pretrial detainees, local sentenced misdemeanants, warrants, holds, and other jail categories reported to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. Jim Ferguson Unit is a TDCJ prison in Madison County. It holds sentenced male state prisoners and is not searched through the Madison County Interop roster.
| Custody Type | Where to Look | What It Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Pretrial or short local jail custody | Madison County Interop roster | People booked at Madison County Jail and visible on the current or recent roster. |
| Sentenced Texas prison custody | TDCJ inmate search | TDCJ prisoners, including people transferred after a Madison County sentence. |
| State victim notifications | TDCJ IVSS | Name, SID, or current TDCJ-number search with notification subscription after details are found. |
| Federal sentenced custody | BOP inmate locator | Federal inmates from 1982 to present, with number and name search routes. |
| Immigration detention | ICE Online Detainee Locator System | ICE custody searches by A-number/country or biographical information. |
The state and federal tools answer different questions. TDCJ can show current location, projected release, offense, and state prison identity fields. BOP can show register number, age, race, sex, release date, and location. ICE ODLS is a detainee locator, not a Madison County jail roster. For federal pretrial custody, the U.S. Marshals Service may use contract detention and may not publish a public roster like Interop.
Madison County Jail Contact
Use the jail contact information when online Madison County inmate records do not answer a practical custody question. The jail should be contacted before travel for bond, visit scheduling, release status, and lobby or kiosk questions. The sheriff page publishes the jail address and the sheriff's office address as separate places, so a person requesting records should check which office is appropriate for the task.

Booking Bond Records
Madison County does not publish a local booking manual online, so the safe record description comes from the roster fields and Texas procedure. A local booking can start with an arrest by the Madison County Sheriff's Office, Madisonville Police Department, DPS, or another agency. The person is taken to Madison County Jail for intake, booking photo, roster entry, charge or warrant entry, bond-field updates, and custody status. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 15.17 requires an arrested person to be taken before a magistrate without unnecessary delay for warnings and bail-related matters.
The Total Bond field is useful but limited. Research examples showed dollar amounts and "NOT SET." A not-set value may mean a magistrate has not acted, bail is unavailable, another hold exists, or the public field has not been updated. Even when a number appears, a warrant from another jurisdiction, parole hold, TDCJ hold, federal hold, ICE detainer, new charge, no-bond order, or administrative timing can block release. Call the jail at 936-348-2755 before traveling with money or contacting a surety bond company.

- Jail intake after arrest, including the records and custody event.
- Magistrate
- A judicial officer who gives warnings and may address bail after arrest.
- PR bond
- A personal bond, meaning release on a promise to appear with court conditions.
- Hold or detainer

Madison County Jail Visits
The sheriff page publishes a simple in-person visitation schedule for Madison County Jail. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. The page does not publish visit length, ID rules, dress code, visitor age limits, attorney visit rules, remote video options, holiday changes, lockdown rules, or approval-list details. Those details should be confirmed by phone before a visitor drives to the jail.
| Population | Days | Time | Scheduling Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| Female inmates | Daily | 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. | Appointment must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. |
| Male inmates | Daily | 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. | Appointment must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. |
Money deposits are separate from visitation. The sheriff page links JailATM for inmate trust-fund deposits and states that people may go to the jail lobby to use the kiosk. Local fees, deposit limits, kiosk payment types, mail rules, commissary schedules, and phone vendor details were not published in the sources inspected. Confirm custody first, then confirm the deposit or visit rule before using money or travel time.
